Cement head is a very important device in cementing operation. If the quality of cement head is not up to standard, the quality of cementing may be affected. Therefore, the cement head needs to be tested before delivery.
Inspection on the size
There are many kinds of cement head, each kind of cement head has many sizes, so it is very necessary to inspect the size of cement head. The main purpose for the inspection: test whether the size of cement head meets the specified standards; check whether the size of the cement head is the size required by customer.
Thread inspection on cement head
After the production is completed, we should carry out the thread inspection according to standard. Different kind of cement head applies different standard, such as casing cement head applies API 5CT standard, drill pipe cement head applies API 5D.
Overall sealing performance test
The sealing performance test of cement head is also one of the very important testing contents. It is mainly to conduct the sealing performance test with clear water to see whether the test pressure meets the sealing test pressure requirements. The rotary cement head shall also be tested for rotary performance.
Test on the cement head material
In addition to the above testing of cementing cement head, the materials of stressed parts should also be tested. The main testing contents include tensile strength test, hardness test and impact absorption energy test of metal materials used in parts under tensile load.
After the cement head is tested, a logo should be placed in a prominent position on the cementing head, including product model, working pressure, manufacturer's name or registered trademark, product number and factory date, etc.
